Denver held the Bears without a third-down conversion in Thursday night’s game. Chicago finished the contest 0-11 on third down attempts.

Four different players scored touchdowns for the Broncos. Running backs Lance Ball (2 yds.) and Xavier Omon (3 yds.) each ran for touchdowns. Wide receiver Jason Hill (19 yds.) and tight end Cornelius Ingram (25 yds.) added scores through the air.

The Broncos defense finished with six sacks in Thursday’s 31-3 win at Chicago. Leading the way were defensive linemen Derek Wolfe and Jeremy Beal, who each tallied two quarterback takedowns. Defensive end Robert Ayers and linebacker Steven Johnson each registered one.

Ten different receivers recorded a catch for the Broncos. Hill and Matthew Willis paced the team with three catches each, while Ingram, Eric Decker and Gerell Robinson each caught a pair. Tight end Jacob Tamme, running backs Knowshon Moreno, Lance Ball and Xavier Omon and wide receiver Andre Caldwell each made one reception.

Eighteen Broncos rookies made their NFL debuts against the Bears, including 12 college free agents and six 2012 NFL Draft selections.

Denver’s 28-point margin of victory in its 31-3 win over the Bears tied for the eighth best in franchise history for a preseason game. It is the largest margin of victory in a preseason game since Denver shut out Seattle 31-0 on Aug. 29, 2002

Denver outgained Chicago 338 yards to 132 in the teams’ preseason opener at Soldier Field. The Broncos finished the game with 156 yards on the ground and 182 through the air. The Bears mustered just 36 rushing and 96 passing yards in the game.
